Great Northern – Fighting for the Future

This patch shows the ties to our Montana supporters and Northern United States in general. The basis for this patch originated with the Great Northern Railway (this railroad eventually merged a few times forming the Burlington Northern and finally the Burlington Northern Santa Fe). The Mountain Goat is a staple of the mountains of Montana.

The Axes represent the Timbers Supporters. The ribbon on the goats back represents our core values of supporting non-profit charity based organizations, in this case The Snow Foundation. The Snow Foundation is an organization that exists soley to fund research in search of a cure for a rare and terminal degenerative neurological condition, Wolfram Syndrome. Wolfram Syndrome encompasses Diabetes Mellitus, Diabetes Insipidus, Optic Atrophy, autonomic neuropathy, deafness, a median rate of mortality of around 36 yrs. of age and much more.

Lastly, the phrase “Fighting For The Future “ has a duel purpose (WS research and Portland Timbers battle for greatness).
